Although MOT’s can be completed in less, please allow up to an hour in case any minor repairs are needed. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your appointment (you can bring your car in any time from opening onwards).

  • Class 4 vehicles (Cars up to 8 passenger seats, motor caravans, Private hire and public service vehicles (up to 8 seats), Private passenger vehicles and ambulances (9 to 12 passenger seats), Goods vehicles (up to 3,000kg design gross weight) & Ambulances and taxis)
  • Class 7 Vehicles (vehicles in the 3,000kg up to 3,500kg design gross weight range, including vans, pickups and transits)

Unfortunately we cannot test three-wheeled vehicles or motorcycles in any of our centres.

We see many MOT failures every day that could be prevented by drivers carrying out some simple checks before bringing their vehicle in. Common avoidable faults include tyre condition and pressure, light bulbs, wipers, mirrors and washers. We can offer a pre-MOT check for a small additional cost. Please call us for more details, or if using the form, ask in the message box for more information.

If your vehicle is undergoing its first MOT then a V5C vehicle registration certificate (log book) is required, this document is also required if your vehicle has had a change of registration plate since its last MOT. In all other instances no documentation is required.

If your car fails an MOT, it must be repaired and retested. Your vehicle cannot legally drive on the road until the repairs have been made and a certificate issued. Most repairs can be carried out onsite at the test centre on the same day, and we will always advise you upfront about any work that needs to be done.

An explanation of retest fees can be found on the DVSA’s website: www.gov.uk/getting-an-mot/retests.

We are based right next to the Helix which is fantastic for a walk while you wait, literally just a 5 minutes walk away. A walk round the famous Kelpies and back would take you around the same time for us to carry out your MOT. We also have a comfortable waiting and viewing area where you can watch the MOT being carried out if you’d prefer.
